Speeding Through August

Tanner's 29th Birthday

Tanner turned 29 in August. We got to spend the weekend including his birthday down in St. George with my family. My parents gave Tanner and I tickets to go see The Hunchback of Notre Dome and babysat Layla while us and my siblings went to the show. The rest of the week was spent by the pool, relaxing, going on walks and watching the Rio Olympics. Unfortunately the day we had planned to hike the Kanaraville Falls Layla had a stomach bug that Tanner and I ended up getting a few days later.... Yuck!!

Our trip was so nice and we enjoyed all of the fun we got to have as a family. 

THE MOUNTAINS!

We decided we wanted to go on a few more hikes before the weather started to get to cold. Tanner took Layla with him and the teacher quorum up American Fork Canyon. Layla had a blast with them. Figuring out how to throw rocks in the water and getting to laugh at those 14 year old boys has become one of Layla's favorite activities. 

A few days after that night, Tanner's family decided to celebrate his birthday and a few from months earlier with a BBQ up the canyon. I loved getting to take Layla around and looking at the bridges and river while we waited for people to come and for dinner to be done cooking. It was a nice evening with the family. 

The next week we decided to FINALLY hike The Grotto trail. I have been wanting to do this since Layla could walk. We had picked harder hikes the last few years and it was nice to go on a Wednesdays afternoon and be the only ones on this trail. Layla loved getting to walk to whole way by herself and getting to cross " logs" that went over the creek. We go to the Grotto and ate lunch and enjoyed the beautiful weather and hiked back.  

Drive-In Movie Date Night

Our bigger date for the month was to go to the Drive-In movie in West Valley. We saw Pete's Dragon. It was so much fun! It was my first time experiencing a drive in movie and I have to say I really enjoyed it.

ITS A GIRL!!

Due January 4, 2017

We are so excited that we are having another little girl. Layla cannot wait to meet her baby sister. Everyday she tells me, "Mommy's belly getting bigger, bigger, then baby sister comes." We are all excited and the time cannot come fast enough.
