NYC Day 1

So, the other day, Ashley was giving me a hard time about "always" being late and creating stressful situations when going to the airport. Whaaa? I'm always the coolest and calmest one on trips! None of this hurry up and wait stuff. Then, there was the time we went on our honeymoon. We were too late to check in at the kiosk, but everything turned out fine. Other than that, I've flown so many times and it's always been smooth sailing.

Then...there was today.

We left about when we expected to, then hit traffic, then tried to go around traffic and got stuck in even worse traffic. In the end, we made it to the airport at 9:30--for a flight that departed at 9:57! We checked in at the kiosk and went to check our bags, and they told us we were too late! They put us in another line, where the guy hesitantly told us he was going to let us make a run for it, but our bags might not make it! We got to go through Sky Priority at security, we were the last ones on the plane, and then we didn't even get to sit by each other. The whole time, we had no clue if our bags were even on the plane with us. But between the two of us during the flight, there were enough prayers to get our bags to New York :)

Here's Ashley explaining the whole fiasco:

But the adventure wasn't over yet, as we left the airport the door closed on me getting on the train and I didn't make it on, but Ashley was already on. She got off a couple of stops later and waited for me. Then we navigated some subway stations with our luggage, including climbing quite a few flights of stairs with our 50 lb. bags, and eventually made it to our hotel!

Ya...remember the time when Ashley was teasing me about always being late to the airport and causing stressful situations, and I defended myself saying, "Come on, that was only once!" Well...she is justified in giving me a hard time whenever she wants. I'll accept it.

We went and had some yummy pizza and John's Pizzeria, just down the street from our hotel, then walked around Time Square and the surrounding area a little bit.

John's Pizzeria! This place was hoppin!

Grand Central Station

Times Square (thanks nice lady for taking our picture)

All night we have just been relieved that we made it here with all our luggage! We're having a blast so far and can't wait to cram everything we can into our New York adventure during the next two days, then it's off to Canada!

Picture Dump

So, this blog was a wedding present to my beautiful bride on our wedding day, and it is way under utilized!  Ashley and I have been working on being better at taking pictures, and I have a number that I have taken on my phone.  Hopefully in the future, blog posts can go up as things happen.  For now, here is a dump of all the pictures and a brief description of what they are!

All I know is, sometimes Ashley just says "Let's take a picture!" so I do it.

The parade is...great... ;)

So there ya go, a terribly incomplete, probably chronologically inaccurate, out of date update on our fairy tale life. Maybe I'll put up some of the videos next.

Tricks!

So, ever since I met Ashley, I have heard of her days doing gymnastics. But I had never seen her do any tricks! Until now...
