To Love and To Cherish

It is February already. Not only is it February but it is the middle of February. I cannot believe how fast time has gone. Well, just a little update on our life here in the Nilsson home. We have been trying to stick to our new year goals and doing pretty well so far. We have even talked about stepping a few up a notch. The only one I am working on a little so slowly is getting our 3 month food storage supply going. I have made a list of the things to get but have only checked on two things on that list. I still have 5 months though so I will keep working on that. We have had to much fun with this warm weather, the cousins living close and with Valentine's Day.

We have loved spending almost every afternoon out in the backyard even if it is just for lunch time. We have been able to play with cousins a lot. (Layla cousins) Having Jace and Jenna live close and my sister Annalee and her husband Chad has been so nice. It has been the perfect thing for a stay at home mom to get some adult talk and especially with family. I have needed that being in a quiet home most of the day.

Valentine's Day out our house is a week long celebration. Especially with Tanner! I love it so much. This year we did a date night Wednesday day/night because Tanner doesn't work so we got to spend the  whole day together. We went for a couples massage and out to dinner at Market Street Grill. We love to spend as much time together as we can. Tanner is my best friend but the best part is dreaming and planning our future together. It makes me so excited each time. This year I got a poem each day and then on Valentine's Day we exchanged gifts and he wrote and sang a song for me. It was still a little rough because he couldn't practice while I was home but the song is my favorite gift. I got him a Nixon watch. Which I haven't done since we got married so it was a surprise. Then Tanner also got me a book by my favorite author and a new swimming suit.  We got to give Layla a new outfit and a teddy bear. He loves the bear and gives it hugs and kisses each time she sees the bear. We ate heart shaped pancakes in the morning because waffles are reserved for Brett and Marci's Valentines dinner with the family. Which we love each year! It is so fun to get a kiss and a squeeze each year. We played at the park for part of Layla's gift for the day and then we had a salmon salad for dinner with a chick flick for our night with the red velvet cheese cake from Cheesecake Factory. Our only Valentine's tradition for us is that cheese cake. There was so much that happened that day! I believe that I have the most romantic and caring husband for me! He is my dream man and knows just how to show me he loves me.

The rest of our month has been great with weddings, farewells, and a new adventure each day. Like finding out after having a baby that I am more blind than I thought so Yay! for stronger contacts to help me see!

Layla is growing and is able to communicate so well. She can point at what she wants, or grabs our finger and shows us exactly what it is she wants. She can do the sign language actions for food, more and all done. She loves to play ALL the time. Especially with her cousins and outside. She is 14 months old and growing to fast.

Our life is so full with love, happiness and new adventures and we couldn't ask for anything more.

A New Year and A New Start

January has been such a wonderful and refreshing month for Tanner and I. We have started our goals and are doing pretty well at them for a month so far and hoping that continues.
This month we have been able to get back into a little bit of a normal weekly schedule. Even though we have a birthday a week so there are still family get togethers almost once a week it is back to a more consistent week overall.
We already had New Years Day and Andrew and Jacqui's wedding. The rest of the month was all about playing and going on mini adventures together.
We decided to go to the Museum of Natural Curiosity. It was so incredibly fun for all of us. Tanner said that he would have loved to have this when we was little. There was a "motion" room and Tanner could have stayed there for a while. Layla loved the water room and the little jungle area. It was so much fun! We bought a pass so we will be going there a lot.

We had a "Stay-cation". We decided to treat one of our Friday and Saturdays like it was vacation, We played games, stayed up late, we went swimming and we went out to eat. We love it. Since we weren't able  to go on a real vacation that weekend we still made the best out of the situation and still had a lot of fun!

Then we decided to go to the park on one of our Sunday walks. The weather has been so nice to us that we have been able to go to the park and go running outside! I REALLY am missing the snow but I think Layla is loving to get to run outside.

Layla and I got to go up with Tanner to work on a Saturday. You would think having your husband have to work on a Saturday is now fun but then when you get to go up with him it turns into being fun. Layla and I got to explore and play at Tanners work while he was fixing and replacing some thing in the server room. That was a adventure for Layla for sure.

Layla's hair is long enough for pig tails and I am loving it. She wont sit down long enough for me to put them in most days but when I get her to I love it!

I was also able to spend a night out by myself for the first time since Layla was born almost. For Christmas Tanner got me tickets to the Hale Center Theater in Orem and I was able to go see the show Bare Foot in the Park. It was so funny. I would definitely see it again and would recommend it to anyone.
Our month has been so nice and we are glad to finally get back to more of a routine. Here are just some pictures of our month. We had so many videos I couldn't choose which ones to post so I decided not to post any. Maybe one day I will post more.
