We finally were able to get the curbing around our flower beds.
We did not want to do it last year so that we could save up some money and
get what we really wanted. We are loving it! We are hoping to get some flowers
in next year but we did get some mulch and three bushes in this year.
Next, I am working on putting together mosquito repellent plant gardens.
I have the pots ready now, I just need to pick our the plants and plant them!
Tanner and I love working in our yard and do it every chance we get.
Our vegetable garden is growing so well and we love watching it grow!
Alec's Last Soccer Game-

We were all able to go to Alec's last soccer game of the Spring season.
It was just pre-season but we hope to get to see him play in the fall also.
Stake Conference-

We are enjoying having Jace and Jenna in our stake.
During Stake Conference we were able to sit by each other and let the girls play.
Then at the end they all got to ride in Jace and Jenna's stroller in the church.
Little Girls photo shoot:
For Mothers Day for Marci we decided to get pictures of all the grand-daughters,
taken by Aubrey of course. It was so much fun and Layla was loving it.
She loves being outside and being able to play with other kids. Here are just a few of my
favorite ones. Okay, I want to put all of them but I shouldn't so, here are a few.
Youth Conference-
Tanner was in charge of a music devotional at Youth
Conference this year. He was able to work with some very talented youth in our area.
He really enjoyed getting to share the spirit through music and getting to connect with
more of the youth in our ward up at Aspen Grove where youth conference
was held. I wish I could write more about that experience but it is Tanners to share.
It was fun to get to here her play and sing this song in our home. Layla really enjoyed getting
to hear her sing. She couldn't help but go into the living room.
We had another boy that is on the same LDS Youth soundtrack but I cant remember his name.
He was so sweet and very talented. He played the guitar and piano at our home to practice also.
Mother's Day-
This was my second mothers day. I was pregnant three years
ago so I kind of count that one but this is my second one with Layla here.
It started out a busy day as always. We had to wake up and be ready by the time McKay
was calling from Norway at 8am. I did to teach my Relief Society lesson on the
Book of Mormon at 9am so we were trying to get all of that together and get Layla ready
and fed before we went. I did let Tanner have time on the call so while I was doing everything
else. He was so great and woke up even earlier than me to make we breakfast in bed.
My request was scrambled eggs and toast. He even had flowers and presents ready for me
down stairs. Then, after the missionary call we were headed to church. I know I get stressed
when teaching but I truly enjoy my calling. Church was good and then we came home to open
presents, eat lunch, my request was for our extreme BLT sandwiches. Tanner truly spoils
me every year and for any holiday! I got a vacuum that will do stairs!!,
(I have been asking for a better vacuum for the stairs for awhile) then new jeans, and a
CAMERA. Which I am still learning how to use but was great day! We then got everything
together for the rest of our night and headed down to my parents to say Happy Mother Day
to my mom. We gave her a DVD of my grandpa( her dad's) birthday video
that was made just before he passed away and a hard back book of his written history.
Then we enjoyed time with them and watched Meet the Mormons. After we headed to
Grandma and Grandpa Nilsson's. It is always good to catch up with family but by this point
of the night my voice was almost gone and it was SO loud in their home that I was straining
my voice just to talk! I couldn't help but talk with family though. Then we got home and tried
to put Layla to bed but she was so over stimulated from the night that she wouldn't go to bed.
She would only let Tanner by her and she just would cry if I came near her.
So, It wasn't the perfect end to Mothers Day, but I enjoyed my whole day.
