Thinking about writing this post is a little overwhelming. There
are so many things that happened on our trip to Washington DC that I want to
write it all down; especially since I use this as a journal recording events in
Tanner's and my life. So, I will be having a different post of each day that we were there.
DAY 1
We flew to Washington DC on September 24,
2014. We drove to the airport, parked and checked in at the counter and
got through security without any delays or problems. We got to the gate and
went to get the pink tags for our stroller and car seat and while we were up at
the counter the lady asked us if we would like to switch seats and get a row to
ourselves because there was a few empty seats. Of course we said we would love
to have a seat for Layla. It was so nice because then we could bring her car
seat onto the airplane which helped Layla sleep for an hour of the flight
there. The flight was smooth and Layla did great!
We got to Baltimore around 4pm. We got to
our rental car location and signed all the paper work and then we went to get
in our car and they just said choose one. This was so exciting for us. We were
thinking to ourselves what car would be want to buy one day for our next car
and let’s try that car out for a few days and see if we would like that. We got
a Chrysler 200. We then drove to get food because at this point we were both
hungry. We stopped at this cute diner between Baltimore and Washington DC. It
was yummy other than they didn't cook my burger as I asked but they totally
made up for it by giving us 10% off and a free meal. The down side is we won’t
be able to use the free meal. We then drove to our hotel in Falls Church just
outside of Washington DC. It was a perfect hotel for us because they were very
accommodating with a baby and they had a free breakfast which for us is a huge
deal and what we look for when we travel. After we checked in we headed to the
store to pick up the necessities which we did not pack with us such as diapers,
wipes, formula, baby food, etc. It was then finally time to fall asleep.
Layla Sleeping on the airplane.
Layla wanted to sit on my seat on the airplane and play.
