April and Easter 2015

This Easter was a new experience for Tanner and I since Layla is old enough to actually enjoy the Easter egg hunt and open her Easter basket on Sunday Morning. The best part of the weekend was that it was General Conference weekend at the same time as Easter. This means it was busy for us with activities with those sides of the families.
Thursday we were able to have Chad, Leanne and Sophie over for dinner. We ate beans and toast which was a new meal for Tanner and I. Leanne said that they ate it a lot when she was growing up and she still eats it now. It was much better than I thought it would be since I normally don't like the flavor of canned beans but these beans have a different flavor to them. I really enjoy all the time that we get to spend together with all of Tanner siblings but especially with Chad and Leanne since Leanne and I get along so well.
Friday night, we went over to Willow Park where Tanner's parents were spending the weekend. When we got there Aubrey and Chance were already there and Jace and Jenna came just a little after we got there.  Tanner's parents had a whole set up with their camper and a really nice tent that looked like a little house and all these cool gadgets to keep camping comfortable. It was a chilly night but we were able to stay warm with the heaters they had. I was pretty nervous about the river that was by their camp site because it was dark and Layla kept wanting to go down by the water. Luckily everyone was very alert where the little girls were wondering. It is always good conversation with the family.

Saturday we had the 3 sessions of conference. The morning, afternoon and priesthood. Tanner and I were really excited to get to watch/ listen to conference because it is always wonderful to hear spiritual guidance from our current prophet and apostles. For breakfast Tanner made chocolate chip pancakes! They were delicious. All three of us were very much enjoying them. Tanner even made us lunch, grilled steak sandwiches with grilled peppers. Tanner and I were able to spend some of our time out in the yard between sessions. I am staining a planter box for our front porch and I am very excited about it. I cant wait until I have planted the flowers in the box. Then, we got to make sure that everything will start to grow well soon.
That afternoon we had a Easter Egg hunt at my Grandma and Grandpa Woolley's. Layla really enjoyed her first Easter Egg hunt where she was walking. Tanner, Alec, Layla and I were on the purple team. We got to share 105 eggs. We ended up with so much candy!! This is good and bad because we love candy but it is bad because we will probably eat the whole basket of candy. I got to spend my night there while Tanner went to priesthood session with his brothers, dad and grandpa. I got to talk with my cousin Allison about being a mom and I loved it. Every time after I talk with her I always feel so much better and more uplifted. She is a wonderful example to me of optimism. Layla loves getting to be with all the kids especially her cousins.

Sunday we got to watch conference and relax a little. Layla also got to open her Easter basket. It was so cute. She was so excited. She got a doll, water wow books, crayons and a coloring book and a book called " Guess how much I love you" and bubbles. Shew as loving it! It was so happy for me as a parent to watch her open up new things! It was like Christmas morning!
Then, at 4 we headed down to Springville to have dinner with my mom's side of the family. It was nice to get to see my Grandma Taylor and the rest of my aunts and uncles. We did a little Easter egg hunt and played outside with some bubbles. It was a wonderful relaxing Sunday!

Unfortunately, I got sick early Monday morning with a stomach bug. It was the worst!! Then we found out that 27 other members of my family got the same sick with in the next 24 hours. It spread like crazy! There were only 5 people who didn't get sick! That is crazy! It is very very contagious obviously especially since none of us ate the same thing. So, stay away from us for the next 3-5 days. Well, maybe that long. It truly is the worst having a one year old with the stomach bug while you as a mom are sick. Tanner was great and stayed home with us to take care of us and ended up getting sick himself the next morning. He was such a trooper!

Then, Wednesday we headed up to Park City where Tanner had rented us a cabin for the rest of the week. We loved our time up there just getting to relax, read, play games, and sit in the hot tub. We invited Jace and Jenna and their girls to come up with us and we really enjoyed having them up there with us just for a little bit. On our way out of Park City we stopped at a park to let the girl run around and play and eat lunch. It was a great time and we will probably do it again and often.

Spring Time 2015

It is incredible how much you can fit into a day and a week and a month. Sometimes I feel like I am so busy with everything in my life that I feel like I have done nothing. Then I look back and I did something everyday that was wonderful, different and fulfilling. I owe a lot of that to my husband! Tanner is a wonderful man who makes my dreams come true and as our blog is titled we truly are living happily every after. We get to go plan, dream, work and play together. There is no better way for Tanner and I to live our lives. We have so many adventures everyday even if, for some days those are just the tantrums that come with a toddler but then we get to dream together for our future and we have some big plans coming up in the next few months. Tanner truly makes me happy every day! Here is just some of what has been happening in this Nilsson home in the month of March.

Jazz Game: Tanner and I were very lucky to get to go to a Jazz game this year and sit in the Executive Suite. We had so much food and drinks and leather seats. We especially enjoyed the company we were with. The other couple were so funny and great to get to know and have a great chat with while watching the game off and on.

UVU Soccer Games: Alec is playing for UVU this year and we haven't missed a game. There have been three games and he has played so well in all of them. There were two in Orem and one in Salt Lake City.

Night at the Museum: For one of our date nights this month we went to sushi and then went to the night at the museum that was going on at this museum in Lehi. We got to see all kinds of people, animals, displays and rocks. It was such a fun experience to go to in our city.

St. Patrick's Day: We did not do much on St. Patrick day to celebrate other than wear green. Layla, Tanner and I all got to wear green together. Even though it happens often that we all wear the same color.  Layla and I did get to spend our afternoon down in Provo visiting Leanne and Sophie. Sophie is getting so big. I cannot wait for her to be able to play with Layla. I love getting to have a sister in law that I love to talk with and we are really friends!

Les Miserables, Orem Hale Center Theater: Tanner and I went to Les Mis in Orem for one of our dates and it is such a good reminder about how incredible music can be. It is such a wonderful show and the music can bring out so many emotions and then the actors with their singing were wonderful. We knew a few members of the cast we saw and they were wonderful in their characters. There were 3 old members of Vocal Point and one of our friends Ari.

Backyard Fun: Layla has been loving this weather and wants to go outside every day. We have picnics in the backyard and play with balls and in the dirty and just run around for hours. We did invite Jenna and the girls over after lunch to play with us for a little while.

Women's Conference: My mom and I watched Women's Conference together this year at my parents house. We ate and talked and enjoyed each others company. I loved the message they sent about defending the family, marriage and about keeping a Christ centered home. I felt like this message was so much to me with being a newer mom I feel like my purpose has been blurred some and that was the perfect spiritual reminder of my true purpose. I love being a mom! It is the best blessing in the world.
Gentri Concert: Tanner and I were very lucky to get tickets to the Gentri launch party/concert. Tanner's friend Brad is in the trio and was able to get us tickets to see the show. They were wonderful performers and I am amazed at the talent they are able to showcase. I told tanner as we were leaving how during some songs their voices were captivating and made you want to keep listening.  We wish them luck in this adventure and hope to get to hear more things from them in the future. I hope they do a hymns/spiritual song CD.

Sophie's Blessing Day: Sunday was Sophie Nilsson's blessing day. She is a beautiful, well behaved baby with such gorgeous hair and eyes. We got to go up to Sandy to attending the blessing and Chad did a wonderful job and was able to stay calm during his blessing even with Sophie crying just a little. We then go to enjoy time as a family at Tanner's parents house. It is always entertaining to get to together with the whole family. So many personalities and so much energy. Layla loves it and she gets to run around with everyone.

Picture Fun: We have done so much and I cant document it all but here are a few pictures from our month.
