Weddings, Blessing and New Baby

We have been having such a busy last month. We were very lucky to be able to attend Chad and Leanne's Wedding. They were so happy and it was such a beautiful day and reception.

On February 23 Tanner blessed Layla. It was such a great day! We are so happy to have a gorgeous baby. It was so great being able to have our family over to our home and be able to celebrate Layla's blessing day with them.

Layla and I were very tired after the blessing that we fell asleep on the bed.

One week after Layla's baby blessing my sister Annalee had her second baby. Her name is Tessa Camille Horton. She was tiny but healthy! We love having so many babies in our family.

We had to chance to take the weekend and go down to St. George with some of Tanner's family. We traveled down there to visit his Grandpa Haw's who earlier that week had a shower of small strokes. By the time we go there he was getting a little bit of his energy back but just a week later he had another stroke and is now unable to swallow so he has asked not to be put on a feeding tube and hopefully join his wife shortly. We are so blessed to be able to visit him when we did.

Lastly, Layla is now three months old and growing so quickly. She is just getting over her first cold and it is so sad to not be able to do much to help her but I am loving the snuggle time.

Blog Catch Up

December:
The month of December was a blur. The first week we were just waiting for Layla to get here. We kept busy and just hoped she would come soon. Then she finally came 5 days after my due date. Labor went well but then after pushing for 2 hours to doctor came in and said "Do you want the good news or the bad news? I said good. He said the good news was that she was doing great and that she wasnt in any stress from labor. The bad news was that I was to small to have a baby that way. So, I went in for a c-section and Layla was born at 7:22 on December 12, 2013. She was 7lbs 12oz and 21 inches long.
The next weeks went by so fast with getting use to a new baby around and my birthday, Christmas and New Years!

First movie was Frozen, which she slept through all but the last 20 minutes.

We hit Layla's one month and then two months. Time has gone by so fast and we have experienced so many firsts with her and I am loving every minute of being this little girls mom.
We have so many pictures and videos its so hard to choose just a few to put up but I dont want to go to crazy.  There will be more pictures to come though.

Big Moments

So far this month has been filled with so many big events that I thought I will write a post now and probably one later. This month has been filled with sadness and with joy.

This month Tanner lost his Grandma Haws.

She got sick and went into the hospital and a week later she passed away. We still do not know the exact reason. She will be very missed by her family and friends. Just this past weekend was her funeral and it was very well put together. Tanner got to sing "Savior Redeemer of my Soul". His grandma loved to listen to him sing and so he was happy to be able to sing at her funeral. Tanners mom and Tanner's immediate family sang a song. It was the first time I really sang with Tanners family and they all have such good voices so I was a little out of place. It was great to share in the moment though. There were three other songs that were sung and they were incredible. One of the songs was "I am a child of God" that was sung by the grandchildren.  There were stories shared by two of her kids, her two sisters and a grandchild. She was an incredible women and accomplished so much in her life and everything she put her mind too she accomplished. She will be incredible missed!

Here are the links to her obituary and a video of pictures of her life.

The good news from this month :

 We have a new niece.
Her name is, Grace Emeline Nilsson
Jenna and Jace had there baby.
