New York City Day 3

This was our last full day in New York City. We would be leaving the next morning. We decided to go to all the museums that we could. We headed to the subway because we did not want to walk all the way to Central Park from our hotel. We woke up just a little bit late so we got a later start than normal. We started at the Metropolitan Museum. It was so big. I never thought we would get to all of it and of course we didn't. We did get to the exhibits we thought would be most interesting. I will just have to share the pictures with you. As we were walking through one of the Early American Exhibit. I was finding myself thinking of ways how I can add the design into my future home. It was funny. Then Tanner came up to me and said, " I wouldn't mind having something like that in our house one day." I told him that I was thinking that same thing.

Many of the things in this room we liked for our house one day!

We then walked through Central Park and man it started to rain. It was the only day we didn't have our rain jackets with us. Luckily, I stuck a umbrella inside Tanner's backpack. We walked over to a castle that was in the middle of Central Park. I ran and got a picture with it and then we briskly walked to the next museum which was the American Museum of Natural History.( I think that is what it is called.) We walked immediately to the  planetarium which was inside. We learned about starts while we walked the show with Whoopey Goldberg as our narrator. We ate lunch there in the cafeteria. Another not so great food choice. We were basically striking out on all of our lunch options. We had to hurry because we wanted to try and make it across town to get to the Air and Space Museum so that we could see the spaceship Intrepid. We hurried through the animals, sea creatures and human sections and basically ran to the museum and then we go there a half hour late so we were not able to go see the spaceship. That was one of the only things that I was sad we didn't get to see, that and The Plaza Hotel.

We decided to take our time walking back to the hotel to get cleaned up for NEWSIES. Yes, that is right Tanner and I saw Newsies on Broadway. It was so good. The singing, the dancing, even the little change in the story was incredible. It was one of the shows Tanner will easily and quickly go see again. We loved how after all the bigger numbers such as King of New York and Seize the Day. The whole audience clapped for at least 2 to 3 minutes. The actors were loving it though. The vocals were great, and the dancers were amazing. I cant dance... at all but these boys could really dance.

After we didn't want our New York section of the trip end so we headed back to Time Square and then over to Rockefellar Plaza. We ended up going up to the "Top of the Rock". It was such a stunning view. It was probably better than the top of the Empire State Building. We stayed up there for over and hour just taking in the city skyline at night. Also, Tanner was trying to figure out what to say in his video for James. When they were closing we went down to walk around and walked by the flags, and the Lego store and show the quote from Mr. Rockefeller. It was late so we headed to the subway. They were going to clean it so they said we need to get in fast so we don't get wet.
We got on the subway and headed back to the hotel.

We had to wait down in the subway for awhile because it was so late. The trains did not run as frequently. It was way hot down there too. We finally got on and rode to our stop. We got off, and got a little turned around so instead of walking most of the way to our hotel underground we ended up walking in a circle almost above ground. Finally we made it back to our hotel for a good nights rest for Canada!

New York City Day Two

We started out our day heading to the Empire State Building. We had so much fun walking around New York City. We walked through Time Square to get there. We had to wait in line for just over 2 hours. The people around us the whole time were getting pretty angry about waiting in line. Tanner and I just laughed at them. The rest of the day was spent walking around Central Park. We ate some pretty horrible vendor food. I should have been warned. Also, the old man we got it from was watching us the whole time we ate. It was weird......

After walking through Central Park for a few hours and eating the not so good food. I was ready for a nice, cool, place. It just so happened that we were coming out of Central Park near the Manhattan Temple. We decided to step inside for a drink and to cool off.
We then decided to go on a Central Line Harbor Cruise. It was great, minus the fact that I was getting sea sick before the boat even left the harbor. Once we were on the boat and moving I was just fine.

This is the only picture Tanner got with my whole head in it.

Then after that we headed to our reservation at a sushi restaurant. It was such a great restaurant. Tanner got deconstructed sushi. He had no idea what to do with it. I got grilled salmon and a California role. We really enjoyed our little bit fancy New York dinner!

It was time for Time Square and shopping!! We really had a great time, even though I was getting very tired after walking for two days.

We both slept very soundly!

Woolley Family Vacation

This year for my family went on vacation to St. George. It was perfect timing for us. It was the week after the fourth of July. We left on Thursday and came back Monday. We got to Cedar City and went to my dads work party. It was so windy and part of me just wanted to stay in the car but we got out and walked to the pavilion. As we were walking we saw that a lady was needing help carrying things over to the pavilion so we helped her carry water. We got there and found a amazing park. It was imagined by kids and you could tell. It had a spot for everything. There was a ship, there was a store, there was a fort and so many ins and outs. Then we ate and headed to the first play of the weekend. It was Merry Wives of Windsor. It was great even when it started to rain on us so we needed to move inside. Then we headed to St. George to sleep. We woke up and relaxed in the morning until we needed to go to the second play of the weekend which was Les Miserables. It was so good!! I love that play. The music is always so captivating. After that we headed back to St. George and got cleaned up, went to dinner with the rest of the KBYU group we were with. Then it was time for us to go to Tuacahn to see Aladdin.  We really enjoyed all of the changes in the play. It was interesting to see how if you take out one or two things you need to change a lot. Also, there were different song which were good.
The next day we separated from KBYU because it there weekend had ended after Aladdin the night before. We took Saturday to go hiking. It was so fun. I really enjoy spending time with my parents and siblings. Even though Emari got very tired by the time we were at the top. It was a good hike. I even learned things while on the hike, from signs and from my dad about birds. We then ate lunch and headed to go check in at the condo we were staying at for the rest of our trip. It was a incredible condo. It was huge. We then of course had to go swimming right after we get there. It was then dinner time so we got ready and went to a little Mexican restaurant.
The next day was Sunday, we woke up, went to church, then came home to have a relaxing Sunday. We watched movies, took naps, and spent time with each other. Tanner and I went to visit his cousins because they were at the condos just down the street from us. We got to see his cousins little baby. He was so cute and very little. They are a great family. I really hope I get to spend more time with them so I can get to know them better. After visiting with them we went back and watched Harry Potter 7 part 2. My mom had not seen it yet so we all wanted to watch it with her.
Monday was our last day. We woke up early so that we could go to this little presentation that they do to get you to buy a condo and membership then we found out we are not old enough. SO...... we thought lets swim. We ended up going swimming for a few hours and then we had to get ready to leave. We all wanted to go hiking so we went to our usual spot. We call it the "Gap". It just happened to be pouring rain right as we got out of the car. I still was going to hike it even though I was going to be wet from head to toe. I loved it! Then it was finally time to drive home.

The park that was right next to the pavilion where my dad was having his work party.

At Aladdin! There were parts in the show that were 3D so we had to where the funny glasses.
This is Emari being so cute in the car just before we went hiking on Saturday.
It was such a great trip.! The only thing that was missing was that Chad and Andrew were not there. At the next Woolley family vacation they will be there.
