Then...there was today.
We left about when we expected to, then hit traffic, then tried to go around traffic and got stuck in even worse traffic. In the end, we made it to the airport at 9:30--for a flight that departed at 9:57! We checked in at the kiosk and went to check our bags, and they told us we were too late! They put us in another line, where the guy hesitantly told us he was going to let us make a run for it, but our bags might not make it! We got to go through Sky Priority at security, we were the last ones on the plane, and then we didn't even get to sit by each other. The whole time, we had no clue if our bags were even on the plane with us. But between the two of us during the flight, there were enough prayers to get our bags to New York :)
Here's Ashley explaining the whole fiasco:
But the adventure wasn't over yet, as we left the airport the door closed on me getting on the train and I didn't make it on, but Ashley was already on. She got off a couple of stops later and waited for me. Then we navigated some subway stations with our luggage, including climbing quite a few flights of stairs with our 50 lb. bags, and eventually made it to our hotel!
Ya...remember the time when Ashley was teasing me about always being late to the airport and causing stressful situations, and I defended myself saying, "Come on, that was only once!" Well...she is justified in giving me a hard time whenever she wants. I'll accept it.
We went and had some yummy pizza and John's Pizzeria, just down the street from our hotel, then walked around Time Square and the surrounding area a little bit.
John's Pizzeria! This place was hoppin!
Grand Central Station
Times Square (thanks nice lady for taking our picture)
All night we have just been relieved that we made it here with all our luggage! We're having a blast so far and can't wait to cram everything we can into our New York adventure during the next two days, then it's off to Canada!
