The Rush of November and Giving Thanks!

We spent the month of November as a family doing the things we love.

Tanner and I went on a date to the movies to see the new James Bond movie. We loved getting to be almost the only ones in the theater on a Wednesday afternoon.

Layla has started to like running on the track with me. She thinks it is so funny to run "faster".

My sister invited us to go to the tree lighting with them and of course to start our Christmas shopping. The band and the lights were so much fun to Layla and getting to play outside with daddy. All Layla really wanted to do was touch the tree. She is so cute that when she wants to touch something is always asks us first " touch?"

Katie's Homecoming. 

My cousin Katie came home from her mission in Cordoba Argentina and we got to greet her while we she got home. 

Layla and I got excited for so many fun things that were going to be happening so we made a count down chain until our California trip, Thanksgiving, her Birthday, my Birthday and Christmas! She loved to wear it as a long necklace and to carry it around with her.

HALLOWEEN- HALLOWEENIE

We celebrated Halloween for almost a whole week at our house. Tanner, Layla and I dressed up as 

"traditional" Halloween this year. Tanner was a ghost, I was a witch and Layla was a pumpkin. 

To start our Halloween celebrating we had a Halloween "Be Prepared" dinner at Brett and Marci's with the whole family, we had a cousin Halloween party that we did at Hee-Haws in Pleasant Grove, we went to the Edge Homes Pumpkin  Bash, Carved pumpkins with my family, our ward Halloween Party with a lot of treats, our Friday get together with Jenna and the girls we had them help us make and decorate Halloween cookies: they mostly enjoyed just eating them.

Halloween day started out peaceful at the temple for the first time with my cousin. After that the real Halloween stuff began with a "spooky" treasure hunt at Grandma Nilsson's. This was so funny!! Tanners uncle Jeff is the funniest man and he got those kids all running around and enjoying finding bones, and carving knives and all things Halloween until the found the treasure of golden coins. Then as tradition we had a chili and homemade doughnut dinner. 

To end the Halloween night Layla went Trick or Treating for the first time!! She loved this and loved getting to knock on everyone's door! Such a fun moment to see as a parent!  Chad and Leanne come to our house to finish off Halloween night with a lot of laughs. 

Then to finish our Halloween festivities my Grandma Woolley did her annual Halloween dinner on November first. With spaghetti with a strange utensil to eat it with and a game to find your spot with a mixed up letters!  Of course it wouldn't be my grandma's without CANDY and it was even on the dinner table! 

We love the holiday season and Halloween truly is a good way to start all the celebrating!
